Red dye 40, is it safe ?!?!

Many things to drink are made with red dye 40, some people say it can give a child ADD, ADHD and other problems. Any one not staying away from it ?  Or have ever heard about this before ?

I've read it's no good, but generally speaking, it's probably best to stay away from processed foods as much as possible and not have to worry about all the crazy additives/chemicals and junk.

Eat and drink real food. :)

I know for myself and any kids I've worked with it can have an affect. It makes me super hyper and unable to focus. If it can have this affect on an adult what can it do to a child?
