So my friend texted me today that he was feeling ill. He kindly asked me to make him a soup and asked if I could drop it off at his house. He lives like 5 min away from me.

Umm. I cooked him some soup and drove to him. He was very thankful and then he said “damn I think I need to find myself a girl”

I kinda just giggled and said well yeah find one that can spoil you for sure!!

He just looked at me and smiled again!

My friends are telling me I’m a fool for cooking him a soup like who does he think he is asking me to cook. I personally didn’t take it personally because he’s a friend and I was just trying to help!

But they’re telling me I’m doing “wifey” things to a man who is just my friend. Since when is it wrong to do this?????

I could see the friend’s concern. You’re focused on the smile, do you like this guy? Because if you are interested in him, and he’s not committing to you but asking you to make him soup when he’s sick leading you to believe he’s interested based off comments and smiles, he’s leading you on and your friends are right. If this is truly just a platonic friendship and you’re a good cook, I don’t see the issue. I do know I don’t have any adult male friends who would call me for soup when they’re sick, that’s what door dash is for. Not to say I wouldn’t ask if they need something when sick, but that doesn’t sound like that happened here. He came right out and asked you to jump and you said how high.

I think it's fine. You could've said no if you didn't want to do it. All he did was ask. I'm sure if anyone of your other friends asked if you could do that for them when they were sick, you would do it. On the other hand, I can see their point too because I personally would never ask one of my friends to make me soup unless I was completely desperate. And even then I would probably just suffer lol I also didn't like his comment about He needs to get himself a girl… As if he expects women to be his soup makers when he's sick. ￼

I used to cook for all my guy friends however not one of them would request food I would offer and I would find it slightly rude if someone just asked if I could make them some food plus bring it too them depends what you and your friends are like though I suppose and if he returns the favour and helps u when in need but me being the nice person I am I would do it anyways lol just don’t let him take advantage off your kindness also must be some damn good soup

Yeah no, youre friends are weird. Your male friend probably likes your cooking and you were doing something nice for a sick friend. His response to your comment about getting a girlfriend maybe hints that he might like you and that might be why he asked you, but either way you were just doing something nice. Theres nothing wrong about it.
