Around smokers- Unsafe?

Question

Hi, my boss is a chain smoker and sits right next to me. She goes for a smoke and comes back and the smell is annoying. I feel my lungs secrete more mucous in response to it and it is suffocating. I don't feel like working with her anymore. How do I deal with this?

I quit a year ago when we were first trying to get pregnant. My husband was supposed to quit with me but still smokes 😓.  The smell is overwhelming and I feel like I can't breath. He smokes on our closed in front porch, so I'm not breathing the 2nd hand, but the lingering smell makes me sick. I ask him to air out before he comes inside, brush his teeth before a kiss. Once I have the baby (I pray he will have quit by then) I will have him change his shirt and wash his hands. I also think the more I need him to take extra steps, the more motivation to kick it.

Being around someone who smokes isnt as bad as 2nd hand smoke BUT its still not good. Thats why they tell you 'if you have a baby wash your hands, change your shirt and brush your teeth after you smoke.' So i would say something to be moved or, hey, theres always passive aggression. Lol

Following as my colleague also smokes so mich throughout the day, i have to spray freshner when he returns because i just cant deal with the smell, he even had the audacity to ask me for a word while he was smoking the other day, everyone thought i was over reacting for being angry about it x

I cant stand that smell while not preggo.  Now that I am.. its intolerable

I think second hand smoke is not safe, when you're actuality present when someone smokes. The actual cigarette smell is OK.
