10 weeks pregnant , cramps and pink / red spotting. Is this normal?

I’m exactly 10 weeks pregnant and this time of the month would be when I’d be due on my period however over the last few days I’ve been getting cramps which has made me go to the toilet and yesterday I got discharge in my underwear which was pink and I rushed to the toilet and wiped and saw I was spotting. Over to today I’ve been spotting with every wipe and now it’s become more of a red colour. This is my second pregnancy, is this anything to be concerned about ?

I called the midwife who told me to see my GP to be referred to the early assessment unit at the hospital in 2 days, the GP couldn’t see me so now I have to wait until probably Thursday to be seen.
