Hubby staying overnight

Is anyone having hubby/partner not stay overnight with them in the hospital? We have a 5 year old and we want some normalcy in his life during this time....He doesn't deal with change very well :/ I could have my mom stay with me, but I'd rather be by myself...Had anyone ever stayed by themselves and been okay?
