Do i need to buy newborn size or 0-3month size?

I bought newborn size but my mom told me that 0-3 is what I’m supposed to buy for my newborn coming. I’m so confused because I thought I’m supposed to have some newborn size onesies just in case?

It depends she shouldn’t really be telling you what to get , newborn was perfectly fine for my baby if you want to get a 0-3 just in case that’s fine you should probably get a premie outfit as well

Newborn drowned my first baby and she needed premie for a little while. Every baby is different and size estimates in utero are not always accurate. It’s best to just be prepared 🤷🏻‍♀️

No one can answer this. I have 4 kids and one went right to 0-3. One stayed in newborn for about 2 weeks. 2 used newborn for 8 weeks. You won’t know what you need clothes wise until you need them.

It just depends on the size of your baby. You should have one last scan close to birth that will estimate how big baby may be but sometimes can be way off. My baby was huge and newborn was useless. I'd say have plenty of 0-3 and get a few newborn pieces because you can always sell them or give them away if your baby is too big and you can order more if your baby is born small enough to fit in newborn for a while.

According to my mom I was a little over 7 pounds and still wore premie size for a little bit, I have a few premie options on hand and a CHUNK of newborn that was handed down from people. I will not be surprised if she grows out of newborn quickly but having the option is nice because 0-3 is surprisingly so much bigger than newborn

I only had about 5-6 newborn onesies (baby was born 7lb 8oz) he was tall baby. He only got to wore them once and he was too big for them so depending on your baby weight you could get some newborn outfits but have more 0-3 clothes

I took a newborn and 0-3 to the hospital for a coming home outfit. In general I had 4 or 5 newborn outfits and about a dozen 0-3 outfits. My most recent wore newborn for about 2 weeks, his feet were too big for most of the 0-3 footed onesis, by 7 weeks he was into the 3-6 months.

I would get a couple newborn and even preemie outfits. My biggest baby was 7 pounds and the nb outfits were a bit big at first. Unless you have a super huge baby they aren’t going to fit 0-3mo outfit the first few weeks.

I had 2 preemie outfits and a handful of newborn. We knew she’d be early but didn’t know how small/big. She ended up being very tiny (4lbs) and my family had to go out and buy more preemie. She was in preemie clothes for 6 weeks and newborn clothes for 6 weeks.
My sister had quite a few newborn clothes for her kids from her baby shower and MIL. Her kids ended up being 7-8lbs and only wore newborn for a week. She would’ve been fine with 0-3m only. 
It’s best to have a few newborn sizes. Don’t buy a ton. You can always get more if you really need to.

With my first everyone said do not buy newborn size as its a waste. So i had 2 newborn sleepers, 2 onesies and 2 pants. Guess what i had to do right after we left the hospital? Run in to target and buy more newborn sleepers and onsies and pants because my 7lb 5 oz girl was in newborn clothes for the first 7 weeks of her life. My second was in them for 5 weeks. Now my third baby (first boy) was 9lba 14oz at birth. He wore 1 newborn diaper in the hospital befoer moving up to a 1 and was in newborn for maybe a week but even on him 0 to 3 was too long at birth. I always bring a 0 to 3 sleeper and outfit with to the hospital just in case but have never used it.
