Does acupunture hurt?

I'm thinking about getting it done because I've heard it can help with fertility. Any tips? What part of my cycle should I get it? Do I have to ask for a specific kind of acupuncture and do all acupuncturists do every kind?

You aren't supposed to feel the needles because they are about the size of a strand of hair. If you do, it could be in a sensitive spot but they are very painless. Not even big enough to draw blood. 
I used to work closely with acupucturists...I never studied it but I think it doesn't matter what time of your cycle you have it done, it's where they put the needles that matter. It's definitely worth a try!! One lady I worked with got a client to quit smoking via acupuncture and she was a 30+ year smoker!

Surprisingly no. If they put the needles somewhere super sensitive with no fat (ears and little toes, in my experience) then it stings for just a second going in. It is soooo relaxing! I think you'd probably want to ask for acupuncture for fertility.
