Do you ovulate twice in a month?

I'm gaining clarity on my cycles.. They are so strange. I have an appt with my doc next week but apparently it's possible to ovulate twice a month at different times, extending your cycle. 3% of women is one statistic. 
Do you have this? I have questions for you...

I might, but I never got checked. I have had 2 positive ovulation tests for a few months at various points during my cycle. But that was 3 years ago. Now that we are ttc for #2, im not ovulating at all! This month I got my first positive op test in 3 months.
