Is laundry service worth it?

I make $21/hr and my husband makes much more than I do. He wants to hire a laundry service. He worked it out that it would be about $300/month for laundry. I said that's not worth it!
He keeps talking about how much time it saves and I said it really doesn't because I still have to put it away. He looked into hiring someone to do it at our house and it would be $45/hr for her to come in and do our laundry like we want. She works minimum 3 hours at a time. 
I said I really don't want to spend our money this way. $300 could be two really nice family dinners every month, or one really fancy date night. The in-house service would be probably closer to $540 which is INSANE to me. 
He keeps talking about how we would save so much time doing this. I said but look at how many hours I have to work to pay for it... Minimum 14 hours. I don't spend 14 hours doing laundry every month unless you're also counting the time a load is washing and drying (which I don't).
If you use a laundry service or pay someone to do your laundry, is it worth it? Does it actually save you that much time?

I’ve put away 6 loads of laundry in 1 hour before. 6 FULL/LARGE baskets of laundry. Folding and hanging up. 
He’s being lazy. Laundry does not take that long. 
Unless yall are making a lot of money combined, this is a totally ridiculous thing to spend money on. That’s just my opinion. And we have a housekeeper to help out with the tedious stuff like washing window sills, baseboards and light fixtures and I still wouldn’t pay anyone to do laundry lol

Not worth it. I do a load of laundry every other day. It takes me 20 minutes to put away. I don't believe paying someone $135 a visit is worth it. Unless you have several loads of laundry for them to put away and they do two loads, that's just wasted money. A laundry service on a regular basis is not worth it at all. 
I would only use a laundry service/hired laundry helper if you had a huge amount of laundry (like several duvets, bedding sets, or say a large amount of laundry from a trip). Regularly, that makes no sense unless you don't have time to do it. That doesn't sound like that's the case for you.
I would try it for a month just to decide the value of it. Your husband will realize how little time it saves you but how it's a large cost to take on.

I have 4 kids and I make six figures and pay for a lot of things like grocery pickup and landscapers to cut my grass and a cleaning person bi-weekly for deep cleaning and $300 for laundry would be insane to me. Those things take my/my husband time. Laundry takes almost no time. You’re not washing it by hand lol unless you’re RICH rich and outsource everything, this is a hard no from me.

I maybe spend 3 hours total on laundry for my family of 4. I literally do a load every day/every other day and a big load of towels and sheets every 1-2 weeks. Spending that amount on laundry sounds INSANE. Unless she’s fully reorganizing closets, providing all detergent/soap/softener, ironing or steaming like I can’t wrap my head around spending that much for someone to throw some stuff in the wash, press a few buttons and fold it. I’d waste more time telling them where it all goes and who’s is who’s.

Not worth it. 
I sit down 1-2 nights a week and bust through 3-4 loads in like 45-60mins. I pop on a show and knock it out. We are a family of 4 (2 toddlers potty training and dad works two jobs). It’s not fun but it’s not hard. I could do a load a day and put it away but then I resent the chore more. I prefer the knocking out a lot at once instead. 
While I wish I didn’t have to do the chore, I wouldn’t pay that much for the service.

We only do laundry service if I get really behind, like 2 clothes hampers or more behind. In that case it’s been very nice but it’s a luxury in a tight spot. I appreciate it a lot when I’ve had to use it but I couldn’t see working it into our monthly budget. Nothing wrong with it of course but like you said I’d rather go out to eat as a family once or twice for fun!

For me, $300 is an insane amount of money to spend on a monthly basis simply for someone to do my laundry. Prior to the pandemic, we had a cleaning lady who came to our house twice a month. It was $140 each time. While here, she washed and folded all of our laundry. There was no extra charge.￼

As someone that used to be a housekeeper which included doing laundry sometimes, I definitely don’t think $300 is worth it. Laundry isn’t that hard and can just be done for free lol the only times I understood paying that much was for people with a lot of kids that spent alot of their time working. They were all pretty rich too so they had the extra money to spend on it

IMO, if you have a LOT of laundry (like multiple bags/hampers worth) then I would think it would be worth it. It doesnt take long at all to put already washed and folded clothes away. However if its only a coule bags/hampers at a time then no, definitely not worth it.
