Teaching with Flaws

Beebee

There was a meeting at daycare for pre-school kids and upcoming new classes. One of those is “Language, grammar” the irony is that the worst speaker was that “language” teacher. Mind you she not only spoke grammatically wrong but a thick Regional dialect, instead of the Standard language.

Another mom and I spoke to our kids teachers and asked if this is the way she’s going to talk to the kids and she didn’t know but would let us know.

I have a really big problem with this because this is not setting up to teach kids the proper language skills.

My MIL speaks that dialect-not as thick and my daughter corrects her from time to time and also already picks out some words that she uses.

I don’t want to be one of those annoying mom’s but this is really rubbing me the wrong way. A language teacher should be speaking clearly, fluently as a lead example. Any thoughts?
