Is this legal?

"He not giving away anything he hooking his family up and I'm hooking people like you up like I said he have multiple accounts from over seas with over $100k in them and we just doing a simple transfer to accounts and splitting the cash 50/50 with who ever account it is but you don't have to do it"
I've been offered an opportunity for some money but I'm not sure this is legal. It's from a friend I trust but I still have my doubts. Can anyone help?

Nobody just gives money away for no reason. This sounds like something set up at the very least to avoid paying taxes.

You are better off killing someone than getting involved in a tax scam. No thanks.

Huge scam!!!!  Do not do it!  They will drain your account and still your identity!!  No one will give you $100k just because they have it!!  Scam!!!  Don't give any info over!!

If it's money from overseas then it's most likely in accounts that have been set up so the person doesn't have to pay taxes. So yes, it's probably illegal.

I live on a island, and there have been  cases where many celebrities have set up overseas accounts here so they don't have to pay tax.

It's clearly not a real business transaction with wording like that. If you can't call multiple numbers to verify the existence of something I wouldn't trust it. It sounds like a scam

These are always scams. What happens is they do a transfer into your account, then have you tranfer part of that money to them in some way. Then the bank realizes it is a scam and takes the money back. You end up owing the bank (or whoever the money belonged to) the part you gave away. In this case 50%. It is a very common scam, and can be done using wire transfer, checks, etc.

I have taken these reports before. In one, the criminal told the woman that he wanted to "hire her" as an assistant and promised to send her a check with her first two months of paychecks in advance, plus some extra money she would need to purchase a list of items and send to the address he gave her. What would have happened, had she cashed that check, is the bank would have relized it was fraudulent, and then taken the money back, leaving her owing (blank) amount of $. She would have given the scam artist a bunch of items for free, and she would be left with nothing but money owed to the bank.
