Do longer cycles impact due dates?

Question

I have a longer menstral cycle (34-37 days). How does that impact the due date (or does it)? I would think that my due date would be a little later. Thoughts?

My ob was calling me 9 weeks based on my lmp but according to my calendar and symptoms i was tracking i thought inwas closer to 7 weeks i found this site entered my info and it was almost exactly the date i thought i conceived and 7 weeks so i think this is more accurate for my average cycle is 38-40 days

That's what happened with me. I ovulated almost 2 weeks late (or at least that's what my CM told me). So it pushed my due date back by almost 2 weeks. I have longer almost irregular cycles so relying on the first day of my last period put my estimated due date about 2 weeks earlier than what I was measuring at my first scan.

They can adjust the dute date thing based on the length of your period. Mines 30-32 days rather than 28 and my dr just input the information. Just make sure you can alter the length of cycle, otherwise it's assumed to be 28 days

Typically with a longer cycle, ovulation is later so yes, that could push the due date back a bit. My cycle is 32 days. My luteal phase is the "average" 14 days, but I ovulate on day 18. When I had my 1st ultrasound at 7w2d, my baby measured 6w5d, which was 4 days behind, just as I suspected. BUT my doctor kept my due date at the one determined by LMP. Maybe because it's my first baby and could come earlier? I think some doctors take several factors into consideration when determining your due date. Some are really good at getting it right, and others aren't. If you know when you ovulated, you can use that to calculate your due date online :)

Yes it does. According to my lmp I would be 12 weeks but I'm actually 9+2 that's based on ovulation and a scan

Same thing for me. According to my LMP I should be 10 wks 6 days today but I am actually 10wks 4 days according to the U/S and my 34 day cycle. It was confusing at first and I was scared the baby wasn't measuring right. I'm glad others have experienced the same.
