Jogging strollers? Do I need one?

FTM here and feeling overwhelmed at all the baby related items. Do I need a jogging stroller? My husband says he wants one so he can go running with the baby at 2 weeks 😳 can I just get a jogging stroller and call it a day? Or do I need a lightweight one too?

Yeah you have to be careful not to use a jogging stroller to early because you can actually cause shaking baby syndrome from it. Just research and you won't need one for a while yet.

We got the Bumbleride. It is a jogging stroller but also SUPER light weight and easy to use. It is not meant for serious running (super long distances) but light jogging it is great for! We really love it. Also comes with a car seat adapter. But, you can't jog with baby until they are a bit older and have head control I believe.

We bought a jogging travel system, but I didn't use it to jog until well after my son was a few months old, mostly because he was a march baby and it didn't warm up here until well into June. Current manufacturer recommendations also specify not to jog with baby in the stroller until he/she has well established head control. Also, jogging with the car seat in place changes the center of gravity and increases the risk of it toppling over during a jog, which is also why it's not recommended. I love my jogging stroller though because of the air filled tires which are great for all-terrain (grass, dirt, etc; just don't forget the tire pump), and I find the shocks are better. I did notice some of the jogging strollers have less basket storage. Have fun doing your research! We ended up getting the graco fast action fold click connect jogger and still use it almost 2 years later.

This is important to know: there are age minimums for jogging strollers. Please do some research (and get your husband too also!) The earliest age recommended to use one is not till 6 months when baby has full head and neck control. Just an FYI since we researched this for is as well! :)

For our first We got a hand-me-down Phil and Ted. We also have a Graco that works with the car seat. 1) highly recommend having a stroller that works with car seat so you do not have to disrupt a sleeping baby when transferring. 2) it has been nice to have 2 strollers - you can loan it to your mom... I have never regretted having both strollers. We also now have an umbrella stroller. 😋

We just registered for a jogging stroller. FTM. My sister got one and found it was way better to navigate around stores as well as walks until the Baby is big enough for runs and the ones with air tires are a lot better with shock absorbtion than the hard plastic
