Getting married

So me and my fiancé have decide that we will be getting married on Halloween this year, we honestly thought people would be happy for us but it's turns out his family aren't happy at all about the idea. They think he's throwing his life away and that they don't want him tied down and started to say that if we had children what life would we be able to give it. I'm so hurt by all that's been said and it's totally changed my opinion on them. He's still decided he wants to go through with it as he doesn't care what they think, I just still feel like his families thoughts and opinions are gonna hang over him :(
