Okay, I'm 22, live with my parents due to an accident I had. I work full time and my dad works for Boeing. My parents suck me dry of every penny I make. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Um...theres a name for that.  Its called "indentured servitude" and they, and other parents like them, can go suck a warthogs dirty nutsack for doing that shit to their kid.

As for you, its time to grow up.  If you can work despite your disability,  seek the support you need to move out and put all your time and energy into your own life, creating a secondary family of friends who love you for you - no dollar amount necessary.  Have lunch with them maybe 1xs a week.  And talk to them on Sundays by phone 1x a week.  Also find yourself a good therapist to learn how to deal effectively with narcisstic parents 'cause thats that what you have and them is like the worst parasites on earth!

If you decide to stay living at home, then you agree with their treatment and nothing will change regardless of how much and how long you bitch about it.

We used to be in that situation about 3 years ago. We had to say we didn't have money and have a stash we were saving to move out and be out of the situation. They are the parents don't forget that. As much as you love and care for them it is not your job to take care of them. It's hard but you have to make a life for yourself as well.

Do you have the means to either live on your own or get a roommate? Sometimes that situation can be stressful. It prevent you from saving, investing, and enjoying your own money. Come up with a plan that will benefit you financially and also discuss your concerns with your parents. Now if they are the type that gets made. Then keep it to your self and resort back to  finding your own place or a roommate.

My parents (well, 1 parent & that parent's spouse) took advantage of me for years. I was in school & repeatedly emptied my savings for them. I provided them a car, and was told they were doing ME the favor by driving it. It made me resentful. I worked hard for my money & what I have, & they've made very poor choices & then constantly expected me to bail them out.

​I finally put my foot down & just stopped helping. Our parents are grown adults, & they need to figure things out on their own. I finished school, moved far away (against their wishes, of course), & eventually met my husband. Now I don't think they would ever ask for help, but I know my answer is 'no.' We are generous with gifts, we pay for dinner, etc. Little things like that. But I won't put my own life on hold bc I'm funding my parents' lifestyle.
