D&C while awake????

Had anyone went through this?? This is my second loss, and I'm being told it's a simple procedure and doesn't take long and pain medicine is only needed but it simply terrifies me, Especially with the idea of being awake. I had a Missed misscarriage at 10w and used the Misoprostol pills but they didn't work fully now my doctor whats to do a D&C in the clinic with no anesthesia... Has anyone had this done while they were awake??
