Pumping moms...

Jaime 🎀🍼 • Expecting November 17, 2015
I've been exclusively pumping for 8 weeks now. After pumping for about an hour my breast not nipples are extremely itchy. It's to the point that I'm scratching myself raw. Anyone know why this happens and is there anything I can do?

Your skin stretches when your breasts are full which makes it itch. You would think it would stop immediately after pumping but no. Just rub lotion on them and you will be fine.

Have you tried rubbing coconut oil on a few minutes before pumping

I was also pumping for an hour and it hurt. The lactation nurse at my child's PCP said that is too long. Now I  breast feed my daughter for up to 40 minutes, alternating each side every 10 minutes.  Then I pump for 10-15 minutes after and store it.

I don't pump for an hour, I pump for 15 minutes. I was trying to say for an hour after pumping, my breast itch. I couldn't imagine pumping for an hour, lol. 15 mins drives me crazy.

I've been exclusively pumping for 10 weeks now, and the same exact thing happens to me! I have no idea why either. Also, sometimes when I start to pump it makes me feel a little nauseous which I find weird as well.

Your body releases hormones when your milk lets down...those hormones can make you feel a little nauseous sometimes

Why are you pumping so long? That usually say 20 minutes buy I usually do 30 maybe 40 if it's been longer between pumps

I pump for 20 minutes, it was suppose to say "an hour after pumping"
