How often to feed?

My little one isn't here yet, but I'm wondering how often you are supposed to feed baby? And if they are sleeping, do you wake them to feed?

Do you plan on breastfeeding or formula? BF is typically 2-3 hours, formula 3-4 hours. I EBF and fed on schedule until 4 weeks, I now feed on demand. My baby boy gained over a pound by his two week check up and consistently has a healthy amount of diapers, which is why I don't follow a schedule anymore; he lets me know when he's hungry! They're really sleepy in the beginning and have tiny tummies so you need to make sure they're eating often.
