What does TTC mean??

I know it means trying to get pregnant but for a couple to be TTC what do they have to do in order to be actively trying?

Like for example do they need to be working out ovulation days every month or is sex 2\3 times a week enough? I've been having unprotected sex with my man for 9 months n still nothing but I've never bothered to work out my ovulation days or done anything else to improve my chances but shouldn't sex 3 times a week be enough anyway? Is going with the flow not the way it works when you want a baby? Any advice will be much appreciated 😊
