Has anyone used the patch and can they tell me how it works?

I'm thinking of going on birth control cause I'm an extremely anxious person 😂 I hate needles though and I was reading about the patch .. Is it effective? How does it work ect please and thank you 😁

I just got on it, it works the same as the pill and the ring. It releases hormones into your body to stop it from ovulating. I was told I can start the patch whenever. But normally you put on the patch the first 24 hours of your period. Or the first Sunday following your period. The day you out your patch will be your change day. So every week on the same day you change your patch. You have 3 weeks with it on then one week without and you start over 3 weeks on and one off. Like most birth controls it is recommended to use backup birth control like a condom until after 7 days. Which is deemed effective from what I have heard. The patch may cause irritation were you put it since it does have adhesive to stick on. When you change your patch every week you put it on a different part of your body so as to not irritate it further. Normally you can put the patch on your stomach thigh, outer arm, and butt m, you should never put them on your breast. My insurance covered me on the patch. So far I haven't had many side effects minus my boobs being sore. But I expected that since I started a week before I was going to start my period. So yea that's what I know. I liked it most of the time. Just depends on your lifestyle, during the summer I went to the beach and in water a lot and it would always get sand stuck all around the edge of it and if I went in a hot tub it would pretty easily come off.. Or if you put it in a spot that clothes rub on it it will peel and/or get a lot of fuzz on it.

The only bad experience I had with the patch is that it never stayed on.
