Question on a few things

I got my 21 week ultrasound I got told by the dr that's there that my baby had two factors of possibly haveing Down syndrome, factor number one was that the kidneys was dilated and factor two was that the baby had a light spot in the heart  I'm not sure exactly what to think , my bloodwork came back and said I have 1 in 7,000 chance of the baby having Down syndrome, other then getting that news my baby has been very active and has been kicking and moving around a lot more at night then the day I want to believe everything's ok with the baby and the baby won't have Down syndrome, either way if the baby does have Down syndrome I will keep it nothing will change it and I've heard haveing a child with Down syndrome or any special needs child isn't easy to deal with any suggestions on what I should do or any one here that has a child or know a child with Down syndrome help me try and understand it better and how hard it'll be

I have not been in this situation. But I'd advise to take it a day at a time and just love your baby more daily. A moms love knows how to hold on and take challenges. My friend was told that there was that possibility that her baby had down syndrome and the Dr was more than sure she did. But my friend took it a day at a time amd Her baby was born perfectly fine. No down syndrome and healthy as can be. She is now a month old :) Hope all goes well for you. Wish you the best

Hmmm, I'm not sure what to tell you. It would all depend on the severity of the disease, and that would be hard to say until birth. Some need heart operations right after birth. Some have these "markers" but turn out just fine. Now, my bloodwork came back with a 1 in 17 chance to have a DS baby. I got the follow-up bloodwork that checks the baby's chromosomes in your blood to see if they're messed up. I would get that if I were you. My baby has a very slightly dialated kidney, and I was told those often resolve on their own before birth. My chromosome bloodwork came back normal, so negative for Down Syndrome. The most concerning features would be the mark on baby's heart and if the kidneys are severely dialated.
