What are your crib must haves?

Very surprised at my husband. He picked out the brand based on the Baby Bargains book. The Romina is expensive but top rated/reviewed. He was insistent about the Greenguard certified (toxic fumes free) among other things. Since we are reusing his baby  furniture we only needed the crib. To my surprise the crib cost as much as a whole set. 
What helped you decide on your crib? What was most important for you?

Price, safety, and the ability to convert was what I shopped for.

Stability, I didn't want a loose or wiggly crib. And a firm but soft comfy mattress.
