Getting your regular cycle back after c section from twins?

Question

Hello all, this is my first pregnancy I'm 33 and were so happy to be having Di/Di twins. I'm due for my c section on the 1st Feb as there's been complications in the pregnancy, (babies are fine) I'll be 37+6.
I just wondered what advice you could give about getting regular periods again after c sections as I have no idea?

Should be no different than any other delivery, I would think. If you breastfeed your cycle may stay away because the hormones often prevent ovulation, so there's no need to shed the uterine lining, but that doesn't work for everybody, some breastfeed with a period no problem. But after a vaginal delivery or c section you'll bleed for anywhere from a week to a month as the uterus heals (think of the placentas like a big scab that's now gone) then there would be some down time, then your cycle would resume when your hormones level out. I breastfed after a vaginal delivery, my period stayed away for about a year and a half.

I would recommend looking into placenta encapsulation. It sounds gross but it's supposed to be great for hormone regulation and milk supply. I am definitely going to try that! I just feel like with two, our bodies will have double the work to heal. Good luck Mama! You'll do fine!
