Breastfeeding premie?

Hey moms!! Hope you are all well. Writing live from NICU where I spent past 14 days with our newborn baby girl who is doing amazing.
Baby is breathing on her own and adapting to everything pretty well since birth. She was born 32w + 5d.
I have been pumping (a loooot) since day 1 and have amazing nurses here to teach full time.
Am just curious to know from your experiences ladies if you had babies more or less around 32-33w when did they start suckling ok on their own?
She is really into trying now but it last a couple seconds or so and she tried on and on and gets tired. Oh and much more effective at night too ;)
Dould like yo share with other moms!!!

My son was born 31+5 and he started breastfeeding at 33-34 weeks. The nicu nurse said that was really early and most babies don't start suckling til 36 weeks. It was only one feed a day and we worked our way up. He got so tired that if he fed once he was too tired for a bath :( he's 2 now and still breastfeeding so it'll all work out for you I'm sure :)

My first was 33wks and spent 16 days in the nicu. We didn't try nursing till I think day 12 and he wasn't reliably doing it till the day before we went home. The night before we went home I spent with him and that was the first 12hr stretch of just nursing. My third is a 34wker and he spent 13 days in the nicu. We started on day 10 and did pretty much the same as my first. He's now almost 8 wks and nurses constantly but he's gaining like a champ. Good luck with your little one. It just takes time, it's a lot of hard work and they're very sleepy. This most recent guy I used to have to strip to his diaper to get a full feeding out of him lol.
