Birth Control: Should I?

Question

I'm 16 years old, and I've discussed me getting on birth control with my mom. She however is concerned about the negative side effects. I'm becoming more and more sexually active with my boyfriend and even though we use condoms, I think added BC would help. What do you think? Am I too young to be taking BC?

Do your research on Birth Control. I started taking it when I was 16 with an off brand kind and that worked well for me because my body was still developing. Now at the age of 24 I am on Yaz and it works wonderfully.

I started BC at 15 sweetie. Your clearly not irresponsible. And the side effects vary per person . Talk to your GyN and research all of your options and decide from there . I was BC 4 years strait and over that course I had to switch 3 different times . Never had a scare , or anything . I was very active in High school but the worse thing was I gained wait over the 4 years . I have been off BC for four months now and already lost 25 of the 80 I gained .
