What do you consider mixed?

What does the word "mixed" mean to you? As in races, ethnicities & nationalities. Is there a certain percentage is considered to be mixed?

The way I understand it is there are 6 main ethnic groups 
1.White/Caucasian 
2. Black or African American
3. Native American
4. Asian (including south Asian like those from India, Pakistan...)
5. Pacific Islander
6. Hispanic or Latino
These are you ethnic/racial groups. Example Italian+German Caucasians are not mixed. Puerto Rican+Mexican Hispanics are not mixed. A Philapino Pacific Islander+French Caucasian IS mixed!

Usually when someone says "mixed" and we're discussing humans I assume they're refering to someone being of a dark-skinned race and a lighter one.

I don't know how to explain it but I am irish, german and british-since those are all "white" I'm not mixed. If i had black, Spanish, or asian genes I'd be mixed. Sorry if i offended anyone with my use of "black", "spanish" and "asian". I don't really know the correct words I'm supposed to use. I'm very tired and don't know how to correctly explain what I'm trying to say lol

When one parent is of one race and the other is from a different race, their child can be described as mixed.

I usually consider mixed people to be of different races combined.

Someone who's Italian and French, for example, I do not consider mixed because they are both white.

Not sure about percentages. I used to know a girl who was 1/8 Chinese 7/8 white and I used to roll my eyes a bit when she said she was mixed. But whatever I guess she is.

I'm white and my husband is 1/2 white 1/2 hispanic. Our baby will be 1/4 hispanic and I consider him mixed. Any more than 1/4 I do not think of as mixed because most of the features of the other race are covered up. Yes, technically you're mixed with two or more things, but you will probably look predominantly one race. ( I understand with wacky genetics that this is not the case 100% of the time.)
