Long distance relationship...?😞

Question

My s/o and I are having problems and arguing about distance.

He and I have been together for almost two years now and he and I both hope to spend the rest of our lives together. Despite that, he and I aren't the happiest we've ever been. He and I both have school and work and get extremely lonely as I can only see him every other weekend, sometimes every weekend.

I know it may sound like it's not a long time away from each other, but I am miserable Being away from him. He's my best friend and he brings out the best in me.

Any ideas of how to make the distance easier?

My boyfriend and I did the same thing for about six months. Not nearly as long as 2+ years but still. I decided to move to his town just because I felt I needed my best friend . Not saying you should do that but if you wanted to you could! What made the distance easier for us I find is making FaceTime dates almost every night. Also phone call dates. Don't be afraid to be "clingy" or "needy" because if you both want it to work you would both put in the time and effort right? I found that when I was lonely during that time it was usually because I felt we didn't talk enough. Maybe try that out? Idk just my thoughts hope it helps :)
