30 weeks- the baby is 4.5 lbs is that big?

30 weeks and the baby is 4.5lbs is that huge? Doctor won't change the due date. On this app it says my baby should be 2.9 lbs

Maybe. Maybe not. Ultrasounds can being quite inaccurate in determining the actual size and weight of an unborn baby especially as the pregnancy progresses. My docs told me my first baby girl would be 10+ pounds and she was only 8 lbs 14 oz at birth and I carried her until 40 weeks 1 day.

What my doc has told me is that it is very hard for them to guesstimate baby's size/weight correctly, and it gets harder the longer the gestation. Meaning when baby is the size of a blueberry, easy to guess. When baby is more the size of a watermelon, extremely difficult to guess. The ultrasound techs kept telling me my baby was going to be big- maybe they assumed since I'm plus sized. But baby was born on his due date at 7lbs 8oz.

I had my son at 34 weeks he was 5lbs 12oz. My doctor said if I had go e full term he would of been at least 10lbs. Sounds like you may have a big baby.

With my daughter, the doctor swore she would only be 5 to 5 1/2 pounds. She came out 8lbs 10oz!

My friend had twins at 29w and they were over four pounds. So I would say that's normal. All of the apps say the baby is smaller then they should be I feel like? Each of my twins are like half a pound more then the app says they should be and they are on track.
