How much is too much to pay?

I've been looking online at strollers and car seats. I'm really leaning towards a convertible car seat that rear and forward faces. Looks like that ones $300 😲 I've seen the stroller and car seat combos but the car seats in those ones aren't convertible. Anyone have any that they recommend (stroller, car seat or combo!) for cheap that are nice quality??

My daughters convertible carseat is an Eddie Bauer that was about $130 I think and I really like it. One thing I will say about the stroller/carseat combos is that they are SO much easier when you're going to be using a stroller. You just pop it out and into the stroller instead of having to unclip baby, risk waking them up, and clip them into the stroller. If your baby is a heavy sleeper it would probably be fine, but if it's hard to get them sleeping in the first place it's a life saver to just pop the whole thing in and out. If you're going to be carrying them then no need for a travel system like that. The travel system we're looking at for the new baby is only about $300, so that leaves plenty later to buy him a bigger carseat and not worry that we spent too much.

I bought a super fancy one costing 1,200 not including extras . But that's just me and that is a ridiculous amount to spend. If ur on a budget I'd say pay anywhere from 150-250 for a good one....

I seriously considered skipping the infant seat and going straight to a convertible, but my sister-in-law reminded me how nice it was to have the flexibility of the infant seat. Convertibles are more expensive, but if you're careful when you buy, some of them convert to a booster and can be used until the child is ready to sit in a car with only a seat belt.

We got a travel system with the infant car seat and I'm so excited to use it.

I would also recommend not skipping the infant carrier! Many a times we would just take her out of the car and she would nap in her car seat for a couple hours or while we pushed her in the stroller. My best friend didn't take my advice bought an all in one and ended up back tracking and purchasing a infant carrier and she regrets not doing it from the start. I highly suggest the Graco Modes set! Super convertible and easy to use and not that hard on the wallet (compared to others) something else to think about...I'm learning my lesson the hard way, my daughter is 15 months and I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my second...I wish I would have bought a set that could be expanded to a double because now I have to purchase a different set all together...I know it may seem crazy to think about when your like woah I'm just gonna have one baby calm down but just think about it ;) city selects are nice strollers but cost a pretty penny but are pretty reasonable if you find one second hand and could easily add a second seat!
