Did you wait to tell your family?

Question

Got my BFP and took two tests to confirm. Won't be able to schedule my doctors appt for another few days. We want to tell our parents tomorrow since we don't think we can keep it a secret from them. Question - should we wait or is it safe to let only our parents know?

I would tell them. It's nice to have support right from the beginning. I miscarried my first pregnancy but I had told my family right when I found out. I was home visiting, so it made sense to tell them in person.  It was great to have their support when I was heartbroken after the loss. A support group is always reassuring. Best of luck during your pregnancy! ?

We want to wait to at least after first US. It's hard to keep the secret

Also, are you sure only your parents would know? Secrets like this don't stay secrets long. ;)

Ergh. I meant to add a comment. Sorry I posted on another girls comment. This format sucks sometimes.

​We are waiting until 12 weeks because we want to make sure everything is okay and we are gonna do a big surprise when we come home for thanksgiving. We've been trying for a year and have been getting harped on by family asking if we're pregnant yet. It's nice just to savor these next few weeks just to ourselves. I think you should weigh your options. Like that other girl said support is nice.
