Codeine cough syrup??

So I have a sinus infection that was turning into walking pneumonia or bronchitis (Dr couldn't really tell since an X-ray was out of the question). They prescribed me guaifenesin-codeine cough syrup and I was wondering if any of you other ladies had been prescribed it? I'm 29w+2 with a baby boy.

My primary care doc wouldn't give it to me a few weeks ago when I had the most painful, awful cough. She was being very cautious. However, my OBGYN said she would have given it to me. By then it was too late. Anyhow, from what I've read on it, it's ok as long as you aren't in your first two months of pregnancy or basically about to deliver your baby. The main risk at the end of the pregnancy would be that your baby may have a little bit of respiratory depression, but unless you are taking it the day you go into labor, you should be fine!

My dr prescribed it for me at 25 weeks because i caught the flu and couldnt move with body pain.

I was prescribed to codeine as well while pregnant if the doctor prescribed it you and your baby are safe

Not sure about the cough syrup but my doc gave me Tylenol with coedine for my migraines while I'm pregnant (usually I'd take imitrex but that's not safe) so I'd think as long as the cough syrup is okay then you'll be fine. They def shouldn't have given you anything harmful to baby if they knew enough to not xray you.
