Birth control pills

I've been on the birth control pill for a little over a year. I'm 23 with a 4yr old daughter. I got off the pill 3months ago and me and boyfriend have been trying to have a baby but so far no luck at all. I was just wondering, how long does it take for the pills to get out of my system? My only concern is, is took so long for me to get pregnant the first time and that was without being on any sort of birth control, I just need a little advice or answers.
