Painless labor???

Question

My friend's mom had 5 children without epidural. And she said that it was like heavy cramping but not too painful. I've NEVER heard of that? Is it really possible to not be in excruciating, calling for God pain?

I had both my girls both with no pain meds at all and the first was induced and a back labor. Both were painful I won't lie but neither were like omg death, it was just hard cramps on and off until time to push then afterwards I was literally up cleaning up my room and straightening everything and myself. As soon as it was over the pain was gone and I felt fine.

My mom did the same and she had 5 kids too... I didn't have drugs either and my daughter was 8 pounds 4 ounces and it was just cramps for me... The only part that really hurt was when her head came out cause she had a big head and the nurse also had to suction cup her out cause her heart rate was going down to 70... My midwife not to think about pain cause of you think of pain then your brain will think of pain so it will hurt... She told me to go to a happy place in my head so I did...

Everyone's pain tolerance is different  my mom was like that. I was not!

I'm due July and reading some of these comments make me really want to  Go un medicated. I feel confident in my pain tolerance, but obviously I've never experienced birth before! Lots to think about!

I had excruciating and severe back labor, before I went to the hospital I was laboring at home during the night and I couldnt sleep, move or think due to the pain. The contractions themselves were like period cramps, nothing too bad. But the back labor, that was the worst part, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I ended up having to get an epidural after being in the hospital for a while due to unforeseen circumstances with my daughters heart rate and my ability to focus on labor. I was admitted to the hospital at 6:30am and my daughter was in my arms at 1:49pm, only 15min of pushing. I don't regret getting the epidural, it helped out a lot with getting my daughter out quickly to prevent any distress but this time around I want to be able to go natural, I just really hope I don't have back labor this time around. Seriously jealous of those mamas who don't feel pain during labor and are able to walk around afterwards.

If you watch The Business of Being Born the first birth they show on there I really thought the woman was just having a contraction. She didn't make a peep, just scrunched up her face, reached down and pulled up a baby! 😳 I was like what the heck did I just see!?!?! Lol

I've never had a baby but have been in the room twice during a birth my sister just had gas and air and she said the most painful bit was the head she said it stung the rest was just like cramps.

My first was with an epidural, so obviously a painless labor. However, both my second and third I went from start of labor to delivering in literally an hour! so my labor was excruciatingly painful! I have a high pain tolerance and I was crying and yelling with every contraction, pushing didn't hurt at all though, just pressure.

Painless labor???
