Viral infection

Anyone have any tips to get rid of this viral infection I have? I went to doc worried I had strep and he said just a virus that needs to work its way out of my body and of course they can't give me any antibiotics so he said keep sticking to Tylenol and cough DM. I'm miserable and Tylenol only goes so far. Just wondering what some of you have done for serious colds.
