When should I start going to a OBGYN Doctor

I'm 20 years old and I'm turning 21 in a couple of months. I've never been in a relationship and I haven't had sex. I have recently been looking for a relationship on dating apps. I have also recently bought condoms for the first time so I can be prepared if anything were to happen in the near future. I am still going to a family doctors office. What should I do?

I suggest you go soon.  Just for a general check up and Pap smear.  It's good to start building a medical record and history early.

I went when I was 18 and its not just for people that are sexually active. They just happen to be more of a specific doctor. Im now 33 and I  have a family doctor that I go to as well as my obgyn doctor that I see for my paps and any other issues of that nature.

Imo You should have already gone. Doesn't matter that you've never had sex, it matters that you menstrate and there is a lot of things that need to be checked.

That say if you haven't had sex you should have a first check up by 21, and when you do become sexually active you should go in every year.

I'd say take a leap and book your first appointment. It's good for your overall health to get a checkup down there around that age. Just be honest and tell them you've never been sexually active.

I didn't start going until right before I got married because I waited until then to have sex. If you are thinking about having sex soon go see an OBGYN. Also make sure to get the HPV vaccine! It protects you against a bunch of different cancers!

Pap smears don't start til your 21, so I wouldn't worry about anything until then, unless it's getting tested for sti's once you're sexually active.
