Interested in Anal

I have been interested in anal for a really long time. My SO and I went shopping yesterday and I got a Butt Plug. I was wondering once I get comfortable with in in for a few minutes, how long should I leave it in there? Is it bad to leave it in for the day? Should I have a schedule to get used to it?
