Does rebound relationships work?

Please describe further about it, why doesn't it work? or why it did?

Because the rebound guy isn't the same guy you're trying to get over 
Rebound guy is being used and he knows it 
Any feelings you think are there aren't because it's not rebound guy you're feeling them for
Rebound guy has to deal with you being upset &talking about the ex constantly 
Rebound guy takes a bigger hit when he does something the ex did that annoyed you
Rebound guy picks up where the ex left off 
Rebound guy is a good guy and is helping you take your mind off the ex. He might really like you but you're not ready to move on and start again

I went through a lot of rebound guys. It took a few years to get over the first. I learned to be happy being single & having fun without being in a relationship. I dismissed guys quickly when they annoyed me. Ive also been somones rebound.

Then when the right guy came along I was ready for him and ready to make an effort again. We work our problems out and fight harder to keep us together. It's not easy and it doesn't happen overnight

I married my rebound :) I was in a bad relationship though and had been checked out of it mentally and emotionally for three months. I was just working on getting a better paying job to kick him out so I could pay my bills. I went on my first date with my now husband a month or little less after breaking up with my ex and we've spent every day together since!

Yes and no. It honestly depends on what you both are looking for. If you're looking for just sex then it's a distraction to get over the last guy (best way to get over someone is to get under someone else haha)
But if you or the rebound develops feelings overtime and you still aren't over your ex clearly it's not going to work.

I'm currently sleeping with an old coworker, we both got out of a serious relationship about a month ago so we both are rebounds and it's working out so far but we both know what we want, just sex. We both aren't over our exs and probably won't be.

As long as you keep that in mind it'll be fine. Just know what you want and know what they want. If it doesn't match up move on.

I have been with my "rebound" for over 10 years now so some can work. I was in a very abusive (he even poured gas on me and tried to catch me in fire) for years. About a month after we finally split I met my now SO, he asked me out on a date and we have been together ever since. It depends on the people and what you're looking for.

A rebound guy can give you a distraction and can help scratch an itch that may still be around 😉. Just make sure the guy is aware it's nothing serious or someone might get hurt again. I had 2 guys that I could always call upon when times were needed. Unfortunately one did end up developing more serious feelings and I had to cool things down a bit with him. We have all grown apart now and currently in relationships. They both have little girls with their new partners and everyone is happy.
