How was your first B.M after birth?

I had little diarrhea bm for the two weeks but not normal bm. My first normal bm was PAINFUL like pushing a baby out again.

I was scared to go, but mom told me "the more you hold it, the bigger it gonna get", so I went as soon as I felt the need. It wasn't painful at all... TMI but it was more uncomfortable to wipe than to actually go...

I had an episiotomy and tore on the inside as well...I was TERRIFIED...but I took stool softens right after I  delivered. Didn't end up going till the next day..but I used some toilet paper and used it to hold against my cut and that helped soooooo much. I'm 2 weeks PP, and I still hold the toilet paper there...the cut it healed now but I'm still scared to go without putting pressure on it.

I had a large episiotomy complete with numerous inner and outer stiches. I didn't take any stool
Softeners and was very scared for it I must say... However it went just fine. It hurt a little but I breathed through it and it was NOTING compared to labor I'm 4 weeks PP and it's only a little uncomfortable now

Somewhere between "just fine" and glass. It was a week after birth, so it was not the easiest and I was scared of how painful it would be. It wasn't painful like glass, but it was uncomfortable from being constipated and the perineal swelling.

I think it depends if you have hemorrhoids, if you tore and all that stuff. My Dr prescribed stool softeners and I've been taking 2 a day since I gave birth and drinking tons of water since I'm breast feeding so it has helped alot. My BMs have super easy and my first one was big I was really expecting it to hurt like hell, I'm so glad it didn't. But I don't have hemorrhoids and I tore inside so it hasn't effected me the way it would if I tore on the outside.
