Pumping to induce?

I was going to test my pump out in my free time today just to see how it works. I'm full term this week so I feel like I waited long enough to do this. Can it actually induce labor?!!! I mean.. I wouldn't mind. Lol

It can kick start labor but I read somewhere you would also be pumping the colostrum. I was going to do the same but I'll save that for the baby.

Yes it would cause contractions!  But your body will be what decides if you go into full labor.

With my second kid my water broke and my midwife actually had me pump during labor.  It really kicked the contractions up a notch!  I wouldn't recommend it unless you are already contracting.

If you plan to breast feed baby needs that colostrum I would not suggest pumping if you want to do anything like that play with your nipples or stimulate them.....

It will. My doctor won't even put into insurance for mine until I deliver because he had patients to use theirs to induce labor too soon. If your full term, I'd give it a shot.

I think the evidence for nipple stimulation is much more in favor of manual stimulation instead of pumping.
