Baby monitor?!

Question

How necessary is one that's a video screen? The babies room is pretty close to ours. What are your opinions and recommendations?

Not necessary but a very nice item to have! It's something to put on your registry and if someone gets it for you awesome but if not just look for them when there is a sale you don't really need it the day baby comes home unless you are planning to have them sleep in their own room. Also it's better to buy a closed circuit instead of wifi accessable just to make sure no creeps hack your video

I love our video baby monitor. We bought one after our regular audio monitor stopped working and I wouldn't use anything else now.

It's really great being able to just peek at the monitor to see if baby is just whimpering or cooing in their sleep or actually awake rather then have to get out of bed and look in the nursery each time they make a noise.

We bought ours when my son was 3 months old and still use it at 26 months to make sure he's not up to any mischief in his room when he's supposed to be sleeping or taking a nap. We also made sure to buy one that was closed circuit (no wifi access) to avoid anyone hacking into it.

Our daughters room is directly across from ours but we also have a 2 story house so I love the fact that I can see & hear her.

I think an Audio monitor does the job. Some people never even used them with their babies and came out just fine. I just think it's really expensive and it's not something u really need. (Audio u do just not video)

They recently found that video monitors can be hacked which is very creepy. Also, I used just a audio monitor and it was great.
