I have to say give it a chance. I have a good friend who contracted it, he is not one to sleep around and has only been with a couple girls one went down on him with a cold sore and he contacted the virus. He is one the sweetest guys I have ever met and he would treat a woman like a princess but many do not give him a chance because of the virus.

Yes, as long as he tells you (which is obviously did) and yall are safe about it.  I can think of at least 3 people I know personally who have it, none of which got it from sleeping around or with multiple people.  They say they avoid giving it to their spouse by not having sex if they feel like an outbreak is coming and take medicine, so it doesn't mean you will definitely catch it. (But I'm a huge advocate for waiting to have sex until  you're married) I've only been with my husband so I haven't had to worry about this, but I still would've married him if he had it.

My best friend has type 2 and has had two perfect pregnancies after and babies are perfect! Also she has never had an out break and probably never will. Give the man a chance. If he is an amazing guy and it's under control then chances are you'll never know other than him being open and honest with you

My doctor told me anyone who ever had chicken pox has the virus.  Some  stay dormant and some comes alive.  It is very difficult to guess how you got it.   Remember  all those who said they have a cold sore that's also herpes

Shingles,chicken pox and hsv 1 and 2 are all in the same family. Of you have had chicken pox your a carrier of a very very similar virus. Hope that will help

Type 1 is just cold sores, they are harmless but type 2 and genital, no! They are dangerous

If it's Herpes Simplex 1 then yes, it's cold sores and 1 in 3 people already have it, I have it and I've never had an outbreak. If it's herpes type 2.... Id stay away from it, genital herpes is never fun...

You cant judge anyone for having it.Give  them a chance everyone is beautiful and amazing in all kinds of ways. He/she is already a good person by telling you they have herpes. Its not easy to deal with soemthing like that. Having an STD doesnt make anyone any less. Be smart. Do some research about it. Good luck everyone:)

If it's type 2 it's a lot nastier and aggressive. Type one is very very common. Lots of people have cold sores and actually one in three people are carriers of the HSV-1. Find out which strain he has
