No appointment until 10 weeks?

My OB/GYN Clinic won't let you schedule an appointment till 10 weeks. Is this normal? I just want to know for sure that my little peanut is in there!

Yes that's pretty normal for some facilities unless there is preexisting conditions that would raise concern and have you come in earlier.

Both of my pregnancies (at different doctors' offices) wouldn't see me until 8 weeks. They want to be able to see the heartbeat.

We had our first appointment at 6 weeks but..... They just talked to us. No ultrasound or anything. We have to wait till 12 weeks to see the baby or see if there is a heart beat.

Most wait until about 8 weeks. 10 weeks seems a little far for me but I'm not sure.

My OB saw me at 5 weeks but just to make sure I was actually pregnant and then she scheduled me for my first real appt for when I'm 10 weeks

Depends on the center. The place I started with last time gave a sonogram every visit. I loved it. But that was all I loved. I ended up switching doctors at 34 weeks. Lol. Now this time I'm with the one I ended up with because I really love the doctor and nurse/office staff but they don't sono as often. My first is at 11 weeks in feb. Sucks. Lol.  I don't think they can tell gender at that early age and who knows how long I'll have to wait for that. Waaaah.

My Dr. said the same thing. We have to wait until February for our first appointment. They said that they wait until the 10th week, so they can for sure detect the heart beat at our first ultrasound :)

Definitely normal, my obgyn doesn't see patients until 12 weeks. I'm 8weeks today and it's agony waiting. I have so much anxiety that something is wrong but I was told you can get a free scan at a pregnancy resource center if you have one near you, may have to listen to some mumbo jumbo first but the peace of mind might be worth it
