How long were you trying for your first baby?

Hi, I was just wondering how long everyone was TTC before they got pregnant with their first child? I'm 27 and my husband and I have been trying for 5 months now (I know statistically it can take 12 months). I'm starting to wonder if maybe there is something wrong with me, it's constantly weighing on my mind and getting me down xx

It took my husband and I almost 6 years to get pregnant. We got married when I was 22 and started trying immediately with no luck. My OBGYN wasn't concerned bc I was so young. I went amost 4 years without knowing I had a hormone imbalance (really long story) switched to a new obgyn and got on meds. About two years later on a month that we weren't even really "trying" bc we had decided to just let it happen if it was going to happen (I had given up... Never thought I would get pregnant) I started having these weird cramps.... I knew you could cramp in early pregnancy so I decided to take a test. I didn't even look right away bc I just knew it was going to be negative like all the other tests I had taken. To my extreme surprise it was positive! Almost 6 years and now we're expecting our first little boy in April. I can't wait! :)

8 months and counting! I have my annual next month, and I think I'm going to ask my doctor for a sperm analysis. They recommend you wait for at least a year of trying before you do that, but I'd like to know sooner rather than later if something is going on.

Every woman is different. It took us two months, and I used ovulation tests and preseed the second month. It took my SIL one month her first pregnancy, and a year for her second. Don't be hard on yourself!  If I were in your shoes, I'd make a fertility appt now only because it can take months to get in. That way it'll be ready for me when I need it, and I can cancel it if magic happens earlier than that :)

Tried for about 10 months; it ended in miscarriage but atleast I know now that I can get pregnant. I was worried too that something was wrong with me, that I would never get pregnant...sometimes it just takes a while.

My husband and I were trying for a little over five months . I was getting discouraged as well . Even made a gyno app to make sure everything was working correctly . Dec 21 two days before my af I took a test and it was positive. I called my gyno back to tell them that evidently everything was working and I am now 8w2d along .... Don't get too discouraged it just makes it that much stressful . Good luck !!!!!!
