could we name our baby Elsa?

my husband and I don't know the gender of our baby yet, but we love {LOVE!} the name Elsa Fern if we have a girl. we could care less about the Disney association - I mean the name is defined as 'pledged to God' - how beautiful is that?!? are we crazy or could we pull it off with some confidence?

My great aunts name was Elsa and she was around way before the movie baha. It's a beautiful  name! =) I also like Elsie.

I could see why people might say no. With the current generation, everyone will assume you named her after the movie. Especially since the sequel is coming out soon.  My suggestion would be to use Elsabeth or Elsie, that way she has some options if she gets a bit bigger and gets tired of hearing "oh, like frozen!"

It would bother me a bit, but in reality, it's our generation, not hers that will have more of an aversion to the name as cliché than hers will if you think of the opinion of Nala or Ariel or Jasmine or Belle.
