Exclusively pumping

I was just wondering who else has been mostly pumping instead of giving boob to baby? I loved giving boob but my nips would sting and burn and were so sensitive I couldn't take it. I feel guilty but it works out the same? She's still getting the good stuff. I did here though pumping won't give out as much milk as bf but when I give her boob it seems like she doesn't get enough so that's another reason why I just pump and give her a bottle. Just wanted to know if anyone else is on the same boat.

I only pump. My baby is 3 weeks old tomorrow. We had latching issues and I tried to give my body time to heal and in the meantime she got used to the bottles. I kept trying but she still wouldn't latch. I actually prefer pumping and giving her a bottle. She was getting so frustrated when we would try to latch it broke my heart to see her so upset. As long as she is getting it, I don't mind pumping. It's easier for when my husband is watching her too. She loves it and is content. Her bottle puts her right to sleep and she is sleeping 4 hours at a time at night.

Oh I also felt guilty too, but she is happy & gaining weight so I don't beat myself up about it. Do what is best for you & your baby :)

I had to pump and bottle the first 4.5 weeks do to her not latching. The pump doesn't extract everything out, but as long as you have the stimulation you are good. I had mastitis twice followed by thrush when before she would latch and then it did become very sensitive when she finally latched. I found expressing some milk into my nipple and rubbing it in helped a lot.
