Depo shot ??

Question

can anyone who's ever been on the depo shot tell me their experience , side effects they got , and period ?

Pros. 
No period. No babies.
Cons. 
Weight gain (40lbs in 1 year for me). Moody. Headaches.

1st shot
Instant no period 
But later it gave me extreme headaches!
2nd shot had a period for a whole month, then my periods stopped for 5 months
Not getting the shot ever again though!

Pro:
Not sure if I have one other then it worked and didn't get pregnant.
Con:
Moody, headache, no period (never knew if I was pregnant due to the no period part), weight gain (which I still haven't lost... it looks like I have a small baby bump- well I feel like it does and if I ware the right tank top my fiance agrees)
Over all it wasn't right for me.

I was on the depo shot for a year, I like the ease and convinence of the shot and honestly had no problems. I stopped getting a period which only started scaring after a few months of being on the shot because I never knew if I could be pregnant. So eventually I stopped getting the shots, I had also gained a lot of weight despite being active. I also didn't like the fact that it could affect how quickly you return to fertility (almost 2 years). I didn't realize how much it changed my body until I got off of it, but everyone is different!
