Yeast infection & yogurt !?

Question

I've read in plenty of articles one solution to a yeast infection is plain yogurt. Like you soak it in a tampon & insert it & leave it only for a few minutes . What do you guys know about this ? I think it sounds a bit strange but I'm sure you ladies can clarify a few things !!!

I read that you're suppose to use a latex glove (the kind doctors use) put the yogurt inside the finger inserts, freeze it, then peel off the glove and just insert the frozen yogurt, & use a liner to catch the melted yogurt. Buuuut I haven't done this or know anyone who has.

That's what my midwife told me to do when I had a mild bacterial infection. It just introduces more good bacteria to balance out the overgrowth of yeast or other bacteria. Also, my midwife suggested whole garlic cloves inserted up there. Peeled, but not nicked in any way. It makes you taste garlic, but it seemed to help me.

I know eating yogurt while on antibiotics can prevent a yeast infection, but I've never heard of inserting it via tampon. I'd research it or ask a doctor before trying it out.
