Implant instantly effective?

I'm getting the implant tomorrow, the nurse said as soon as it's put in it'll be effective; as its within the first five days of my period, obviously I'll have to see what my bleeding is doing but yeah, anyone have it and know?

If it's within the first five days of your cycle (bleeding or not bleeding) then it's immediately effective :) day 1 is the day that you start bleeding and then you count up from there. I got mine on day 8 of my cycle and had to wait a week for it to be effective
