Did your water break? Or did contractions just start?

I'm a FTM and I keep wondering if my water will break or contractions will just start??

Yea I know only 10% of women have there water break...sucks when I'm a ftm and have no idea if this will happen to me...I hate walking around like a time bomb knowing I could go into labor at anytime

I had Contractions 5 minutes apart but I wasn't dialating at all so they sent me home when I got home it was like 4AM the second I layed down in bed my water broke and we had to go right back to the hospital lol

I was very surprised because I knew the odds, but my water broke at 39 wk 3 days and contractions started at that same exact moment. Apparently contractions after your water breaking are ten times worse bc there's no cusion to absorb them. Very true! My contractions were 4 min apart within an hour- I was still only 1 cm dilated after 6 hours so I still had to be induced due to the risk of infection with water rupture.

I was told at my 39 week check up that there was no way I'd deliver on time and would most likely be induced at 41 weeks. My doc said that I was only 1 cm and my cervix was extremely posterior. She told me to walk a lot and drink a lot of water. Over the next 2 days I drank a ton and got my 10,000 steps in and then it happened!

Water broke with my frst, contractions with my second.

With my first my water broke while they were doing my epidural. I'd been having contractions for a little over 24 hours at that point. The second time the doctor broke my water after my epidural. I'd been having contractions for about 2 hours.

Only 10% of women's water break on their own. When ur water breaks first off you will be at the end of first stage labor and starting active labor and secondly if you water does break get to the hospital and make sure to tell them what time ur water broke because they baby will need to come out within 24 hours of ur water breaking to reduce the risk of infection.
