natural birth?

I'm considering natural birth for my second baby.. please let me know your natural birth stories and recovery.. I'm seriously considering doing this.. so comments please!!!

I've had a medicated and an unmedicated birth and I'd do unmedicated all over again!! Yes, it was extremely intense and painful but once it's over, it's over. I was able to get up, take a shower, put on my comfy pjs and just relax and breastfeed. The rush of hormones during and after are quite amazing too! An epidural blocks those natural hormones from doing what they are intended to do. I tore with both births but the unmedicated PP period was so much easier. You can do!

My first was a medicated birth and this time around for my second I had no choice but to go naturally. I was already 9cm when I got to the hospital. I have to say that, although the natural birth was much more intense, the recovery has been faster and less painful. I would do it again for sure. But leaving the option open is a good idea. In the moment you might decide you want some relief. Believe me, this time around I asked for the medication but it was too late so they said no. Glad it happened that way though.

Very true Angela I went in expecting to do a natural birth (no epidural) like with my other 2 but I just couldn't bare the pain any longer I did give in and have a epidural. So every pregnancy is different and every birth is different.

I went unmedicated with my son (first). It was the hardest thing I've ever done but it was so amazing to feel the experience too! Once He was delivered & we got our bonding in, it felt amazing to get up and walk to our recovery room! I know you can do it if you have the desire! Good luck mama!

I just recently had a epidural free birth (this is my third) and it was amazing for me. Painful but great! I didn't really tear, my doctor said if it wouldn't have been bleeding a little bit she wouldn't have even stitched me up. When she numbed me for the stitches I did feel the prick and it was a little uncomfortable but no where near as painful as giving birth. I was up and walking around about an hour after I had her and felt 10000X better than with my others and I really think it was better for me.
